The aim of this course is to raise awareness of the range of circumstances in which children may become cared for away from home. This includes children who are in the care of the Local Authority and children who are cared for under Private Fostering Regulations
- Identify children who are living away from home in different legal context i.e. (privately fostered children, Looked After Children and Children living with family and friends and connected persons).
- Recognise the particular vulnerabilities of children who are privately fostered, how agencies are expected to work together in identifying and notifying privately fostered children to the local authority MASH Service.
- Understand the legal context to Private Fostering Arrangements, Local Authorities statutory duties and functions following a Private Fostering Notification to the LA.
