Terms & Conditions

Most Bookings close 48 hours before the start of the course, however we do sometimes get late cancellations. Please contact the office directly to enquire about places after this date. Applicants should ensure they follow their agency procedures for booking training. Training must only be undertaken by the individual that has booked onto training.

Certificates and other resources - will only be issued for attendance of the full course. Certificates will only be released on completion of an evaluation form. Delegates should ensure they can attend the whole session and after the training should login to their account to complete the online evaluation and then be able to download their certificate of attendance and other resources.

Late arrivalsIn person - Participants turning up late for training events may be turned away, at the discretion of the facilitator. Online - Participants logging online late for the training event may not be allowed access, this will be at the discretion of the facilitator. Delegates who are denied entry by the facilitator due to their late arrival will still be charged the full cost of the training event where applicable.

Data Protection - We are required to inform individuals about the information we hold about them. SCA/NSCP records names, roles and contact details on a computerised database for the purposes of distributing the training brochure and to support the training records. In addition, course evaluations and application details are held on an electronic database.

Attendance and non-attendance information is recorded and reported on an annual basis to the Senior Leadership Team and the Newham Safeguarding Children Partnership executive board.

Training Charges (where applicable) - Prior to booking on to a training event, applicants are responsible for ensuring that they are aware of the charging and cancellation policy. Applicants must always follow their own agency processes when booking on to training events and are responsible for ensuring that line manager approval has been obtained.

Course Cancellations - SCA/NSCP continues to operate a strict policy for non-attendance at training events. All course cancellations must be made more than 5 working days prior to an event via the event-booking system. Cancellations less than 5 working days before an event must be made via email to NewhamSocialCareAcademy@newham.gov.uk for SCA courses, LSCB.Administrator@newham.gov.uk for NSCP courses & Dawn Henry for Family Hubs/Early Help courses - Dawn.Henry@newham.gov.uk. Please note that charges will apply (where applicable) for late cancellations in accordance with the cancellation policy. In cases where a delegate cannot attend, a replacement can be sent. However, this must be marked clearly on the course register on the day.
