The first module of the core Early Help training programme will introduce:
- What is Early Help and why it is important
- Outline of the 2023 Working Together to Safeguard Children statutory guidance
- The concept of a Community Early Help Record
- How and why to use the assessment triangle
- The core principles of whole family working
The second module of the core training programme will:
- Explore the concept of relationship-based practice and how to work with families to build on their existing strengths and capabilities
- Introduce systemic principles and methods for understanding a family’s narrative
- Highlight the importance of genograms in understanding a family’s relational patterns and behaviors
The third module will be co-delivered with parents who have lived experience and will focus on the role of the Lead Practitioner, Team Around the Family (TAF) working and achieving multi-agency and collaborative work
The final module of the core training programme will focus on:
- How to complete a Community Early Help Record
- Newham’s Community Early Help processes
- Step up/step across processes, Information sharing
- Thresholds, referral pathways, and how to access timely support for families
- Supporting families with complex needs and signposting
Who Should Attend: Early Help professionals who are new to Newham, have limited knowledge of Early Help practices, or are interested in a refresher session to learn about current developments.
