The Social Switch Project aims to change how we understand and manage young people's online behaviour. With the support of the Mayor of London’s Violence Reduction Unit and leading charities Catch22 and Rethread, the project is empowering young people in London with the digital skills necessary for today's workforce. Additionally, the project provides free interactive training for parents, trusted adults, and professionals working with young people, focusing on dealing with harmful online behaviour and the potential real-life consequences. The project's goal is to promote positive social media use, improve understanding of young people's online behaviour, and support professionals and parents/trusted adults in dealing with both harmful online behaviour and real-life violence which can escalate as a result.

The Online Harms Training covers a range of topics including over-usage, online grooming, sending nudes, sexting, inappropriate content, body image, online influencers, and violence against women and girls.

Online Harms Training — The Social Switch Project

The Social Switch Project is excited to present two engaging workshops for parents and trusted adults on social media and online safety for young people.

• In the first session, we’ll explore social media platforms, discussing how young people interact online and highlighting the positive sides of these digital spaces.
• In the second session, we’ll address important issues related to online dangers. We’ll cover topics like grooming and exploitation, providing you with essential tools to help keep our youth safe.
