Early Help Core Training Programme
Module 1: Introduction to Early Help
- Understanding Early Help and its significance
- Overview of the 2023 Working Together to Safeguard Children statutory guidance
- Introduction to the Community Early Help Record
- Utilising the assessment triangle effectively
- Principles of whole family working
Module 2: Introduction to Systemic Thinking
- Introduce key systemic principles and theories to understand family dynamics and build relationships
- Thinking about whole family dynamics and interventions, building on their strengths and capabilities
- Explore techniques to use in practice with children and families to introduce ideas of change
Module 3: Collaborative Work
- Co-delivered with parents with lived experience
- Role of the Lead Practitioner
- Team Around the Family (TAF) working
- Achieving multi-agency and collaborative work
Module 4: Early Help Record and Step Up/Step Down
- Completing a Community Early Help Record
- Newham’s Community Early Help processes
- Step up/step across processes and information sharing
- Thresholds, referral pathways, and accessing timely support for families
Who Should Attend: Early Help professionals new to Newham, those with limited knowledge of Early Help practices, or anyone interested in a refresher session on current developments.
