Overview

A training day to enhance skills and understanding in family working, aimed at supporting practice and curiosity in various situations.

Learning outcomes:

• Understanding the benefits and challenges of family engagement
• Know how to put the child at the heart of practice whilst working alongside families who are experiencing difficulties.
• Be able to develop skills in working alongside families to achieve sustainable change.
• Understand the types of challenges presented in families and households
• Develop skills in undertaking challenging conversations around risk and need
• Have the opportunity to reflect on their own practice and also develop strategies to engage effectively with colleagues where there may be differing viewpoints.
• Understand the importance of information sharing and the roles of different agencies in supporting families.
