This half day workshop will be focussed on the importance of effective communication in seeking to address conflict in the workplace It will be delivered in an accessible and relational way to ensure attendees are able to engage as effectively as possible with the content It will be delivered through a mixture of presentation, group discussion, pair work and reflection Attendees will leave with practical tools they can take away and use straight away in their work, with the aim of feeling more confident and equipped to better manage conflict in the workplace
Learning Outcomes
- To explore and unpick definitions of ‘
- To examine one’s own relationship with ‘ and how this may impact on work and practice, including recognising one’s own behaviours and how they may affect oneself and others in different ways
- To be able to effectively identify potential areas of conflict at work and to understand the different formal routes to support/escalation
- To consider different communication tools to effectively resolve conflict in the workplace, with a specific focus on active listening
- To practise applying conflict resolution strategies to a work based scenario example
