Transgender Awareness Workshop

Aims

This course aims to:

• Raise practitioners' awareness of the protected characteristic of gender reassignment.
• Explore the support available to practitioners working with children and families.
• Develop skills to hold confident conversations and raise transgender awareness with staff, families, and young people.
• Create an action plan for inclusion and change within the workplace/everyday practice .

Outcomes

By the end of the course, delegates will:

• Have a better understanding of the lived experience of transgender individuals and those exploring their gender identity.
• Know how to provide support, access available resources, and be sensitive to the needs of transgender individuals.
• Be equipped with effective communication strategies to foster transgender awareness and inclusivity.
• Have developed an action plan to promote inclusion and drive positive change.
